Popular Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has spoken candidly about the collapse of her former marriage to actor Adeniyi Johnson, shedding light on the lessons learned and the family concerns that surrounded it.
The actress, whose marriage to Johnson lasted about two years, revealed in a heartfelt conversation with media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu that her family had expressed serious reservations about the relationship from the beginning. Despite their concerns, she went ahead with the marriage— a decision she now reflects on openly.
Speaking about her journey since then, Toyin opened up about how her life has changed, especially since marrying her current husband, fellow actor Kolawole Ajeyemi. She described their union as one rooted in genuine love, understanding, and shared faith — all of which have helped them build a strong family together.
“In real life, he is very calm, he’s a prayer warrior. Whenever I go to Abeokuta, he’s always there. So we started getting close and then dating. At first, I didn’t want anyone to know, but I found myself growing fond of him. Whenever he wanted to go to work, I’d tag along. As time went on, I no longer cared what people thought. I took him to my parents, he took me to his, we had a small introduction, then I got pregnant, and then marriage followed,” she shared.
Toyin explained that her family prayed about the relationship and believed God revealed Kolawole was her true partner. Today, the couple are blessed with two children — a boy and a girl.
Expressing gratitude for her current chapter, she said:
“Trust me, I married one of the best. I won’t say the best because there are other marriages I admire, like my godmother’s, but my husband is truly one of the best.”
