Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has publicly fired shots at fellow artist Blaqbonez, warning him to stop self-proclaiming as Nigeria’s best rapper.
This fiery call-out follows a recent online clash between the two rappers, which intensified after Blaqbonez took a jab at Odumodublvck in his latest track with A-Q titled “Who’s Really Rapping.”
Appearing on Jusmen 105.7 FM, Odumodublvck didn’t hold back, accusing Blaqbonez of disrespecting hip-hop culture and overlooking the legacies of Nigeria’s true rap icons.
“Do you know what it means to say you’re the best rapper in Nigeria? Stop joking,” Odumodublvck said bluntly.
“You’re not the best rapper. M.I is the best. Vector is the best. If you were the best, you’d have won Best Rap Album at the Headies. You weren’t even nominated for Best Rap Single.”
He continued, emphasizing humility and respect for the culture:
“I’m not better than Phyno as a rapper. Look at his legacy. There’s Olamide, Vector, M.I, Modenine, Ghost, Tec… These are legends. If you’re going to call yourself the best, you better back it up. And if you’re not, stop saying it. It’s getting on my nerves.”
Odumodublvck also warned that false bravado could have real-world consequences:
“You can get smacked in the face for that kind of sh*t. Stop lying to the kids. You’re an amazing artist—no one’s saying you’re wack. But don’t let insecurity shut the door on others.”
The Culture Reacts
The growing beef has set social media abuzz, with fans split between defending Blaqbonez’s confidence and supporting Odumodublvck’s call for respect and recognition of Nigeria’s rap pioneers.
