Nollywood actress Stella Damasus is once again at the center of controversy after her ex-husband, filmmaker Daniel Ademinokan, accused her of lying about how their marriage ended — and leaked what he claims is proof.
The drama resurfaced after an old 2023 interview with Damasus on The Teju Babyface Show went viral. In it, Stella shared that she shockingly discovered her marriage had ended only after friends urged her to check YouTube — where she found videos revealing her separation.
“A lot of things were said about me on YouTube because that’s how I found out my marriage had ended. I didn’t know that my marriage had ended,” she said, describing how blindsided she felt by the breakup.
The revelation sparked fresh debate online, drawing sympathy for Damasus — until Ademinokan broke his silence.
Taking to his Instagram Stories, Daniel Ademinokan flatly denied Stella’s account, branding it “misleading.” He claimed he had kept quiet for the sake of privacy but could no longer stand by while what he called “lies” spread.
To back up his side, he shared a screenshot of an email allegedly sent by Stella on July 20, 2021, in which she asked for an address to send divorce papers — contradicting her claim that she was blindsided by the split.
Ademinokan didn’t stop there. He stated that his decision to end the marriage wasn’t sudden, but driven by concerns for his mental health and his son’s safety. He went further, alleging that his son once wore makeup to school to hide injuries from physical abuse suffered during the marriage — a serious claim that has yet to be independently verified.
The fresh revelations have divided fans and reignited questions about what really went on behind closed doors between the once-celebrated couple.
Neither Stella Damasus nor her representatives have publicly responded to the leaked email or Ademinokan’s disturbing allegations at the time of writing.
