- Portable slams Zlatan Ibile for keeping silent about Mohbad’s controversial death.
- Mohbad (Ilerioluwa Aloba) died on September 12, 2023, at age 27.
- His death sparked public outrage, partly due to reports that he was treated by an unlicensed nurse.
Nigerian street-pop star Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has publicly called out fellow artist Zlatan Ibile for refusing to speak up about the suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of Mohbad.
Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Aloba, died suddenly at just 27, leaving fans and the industry demanding answers. Concerns grew when reports surfaced that he may have received care from an unlicensed nurse before his death.
Adding fuel to the controversy, an old video resurfaced showing Mohbad being harassed on a music video set by Sam Larry — a known associate of Naira Marley, Mohbad’s former label boss. Zlatan was reportedly present during the altercation but has yet to address it publicly.
After activist Verydarkman (VDM) interviewed Sam Larry, many Nigerians pressured Zlatan to break his silence, given his role as an alleged witness. It was claimed that Zlatan said his mother had advised him to stay out of the matter.
In a fiery video, Portable criticized Zlatan for using his mother as an excuse and questioned his loyalty to the late singer, insisting that silence in such a situation showed a lack of true friendship.
