Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has strongly condemned the unauthorized use of his image in AI-generated videos falsely portraying him as endorsing medical products.

In a video shared on June 23, the legendary actor clarified that he has never promoted or endorsed any medical items and urged the public to disregard such misleading content.

“A lawyer rushed into my house and said, ‘Pete, go to court—this will make you a millionaire, in fact a billionaire,’” Edochie recounted.
“He showed me where I was being used in an advert, claiming I was rushed to the hospital and some doctor saved my life. I was like—what is all this nonsense?”

“Don’t Abuse the Grace Upon My Life”

Edochie expressed deep displeasure with the creators of these manipulated videos, warning them to stop exploiting his image and reputation. He emphasized that although he has no intention of pursuing legal action for now, he is not amused.

“I thank God that I have integrity and credibility. I have not advertised any drug in years. But now people show me videos of me promoting blood pressure medication, stroke treatment… it’s disturbing,” he said.

The actor stressed that anyone genuinely interested in collaborating with him for product endorsements should do so transparently and respectfully.

“If you want me to advertise something for you, come and meet me. Let us discuss it. But using AI to mess me up? I don’t like it.”

Calls for Privacy Amid Family Scrutiny

Pete Edochie, who has recently found himself back in headlines due to controversies surrounding the personal lives of his sons, Yul and Linc Edochie, also called for public restraint.

“Please allow me to live in peace. Don’t misuse the name and grace that God has placed upon me,” he concluded.
