Controversial Nigerian singer Naira Marley is back in the news, this time for allegedly filing a legal petition against popular Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo.

According to reports circulating online, particularly from gossip blogger Cutie Juls, the petition resulted in Iyabo Ojo being summoned by the police in Abuja.

The petition, reportedly filed by Marley’s legal team, accuses Iyabo Ojo of allegedly spreading false claims that exonerated the singer through misleading statements.

The team claims that fake social media accounts, allegedly connected to Marley’s camp, were used to circulate messages suggesting that Iyabo Ojo had apologized to him. These false narratives were allegedly sent to various blogs, portraying a reconciliation that never happened.

While the police have yet to officially confirm the petition or any summons, the gossip blog alleges that Marley’s camp is seeking legal redress for what they describe as defamatory and deceptive claims linked to Iyabo Ojo’s outspoken role during the Mohbad saga.

This development comes amid lingering controversy over the mysterious death of singer Mohbad in 2023 — a tragedy that sparked national outrage and led to widespread allegations of harassment against Marley and his associates.

Iyabo Ojo was among the most vocal celebrities demanding justice for Mohbad, frequently calling out Marley and his crew on social media.

Meanwhile, fresh reports also claim that Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, has filed a separate legal action against Naira Marley, accusing him of reneging on an earlier promise related to the late singer’s estate or legal affairs.
