Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson has publicly called out a Ghanaian television station for allegedly airing her latest movie without authorization.

Taking to Instagram, the actress expressed her shock and disappointment over what she described as blatant disregard for her rights as a filmmaker. She revealed that neither she nor her team gave permission for the broadcast.

In a strongly worded post, Mercy described the move as unprofessional and unacceptable, questioning how such copyright infringement could be justified.

“Ghana, Blazing TV — how is this even okay? Blazing TV in Ghana is showing my movie, The Firstborn, on their channel without my consent. How does this even make sense? I am speechless at the audacity of it all,” she wrote.

Her post has since sparked wider conversations about copyright violations and the lack of respect for intellectual property in the African entertainment industry. Many of her fans and fellow filmmakers have backed her stance, urging stricter measures to protect creatives’ works from unauthorized use.
