Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy surprised fans when he admitted in a recent interview that he has never taken a proper vacation.

When asked about downtime, Burna Boy said, “I don’t know. I’ve never been on a vacation.” The interviewer joked about wanting to see Burna Boy’s toes, to which the artist laughed and said, “My toes are nice, you know.”

Though many assume Burna Boy has traveled extensively, he explained that his idea of rest is simply being at home in Lagos. He mentioned a trip to Jamaica but said it felt like home, so it didn’t count as a vacation.

For Burna Boy, true rest means being grounded and at home—not necessarily traveling to exotic locations.
