Popular Nigerian preacher, Prophet Odumeje, has revealed why he refuses to collect tithes from his congregation during church services.
The Anambra-based cleric, known for his dramatic style and controversial teachings, emphasized that his mission is rooted in showcasing the reality of God’s power — not in accumulating wealth.
While ministering, Odumeje explained that he sees no reason to demand money from his followers, as doing so would distract from his true purpose: proving that Christ is real.
“Look at a young fresh man like me. I’ll come here and be deceiving people? I no dey do church for money. Nobody pays me tithe. I am doing church to prove to you that Christ is real. That is my mission. When I finish my job, I will leave the same way Prophet Emmanuel TB Joshua left…”
His remarks have sparked reactions online, with many praising him for his stance on money in ministry — a sharp contrast to the perception of many Nigerian pastors.
Odumeje, often nicknamed “The Liquid Metal” by his followers, continues to draw crowds with his unconventional approach, bold prophecies, and claim of performing miracles — all while maintaining that his focus remains spiritual, not financial.
