Popular Nigerian rapper and activist Falz the Bahd Guy has once again made it clear that he has no intention of venturing into politics, despite growing calls from the public for him to do so.
Falz, whose real name is Folarin Falana, reiterated his stance during a recent interview with Pulse Nigeria while promoting his latest project, The Feast.
When asked whether he would ever consider a political career to push for change from within the system, Falz’s response was candid:
“Politics, ke? No, it’s a big no. What’s my business with politics? I can never become a politician. I don’t think I’d ever be able to be one because being one requires traits I simply don’t have—many negative ones. Even the so-called ‘normal’ traits, like being endlessly patient and always being ‘on,’ I don’t have that in me.”
His remarks struck a chord with many Nigerians, especially young people who view him as one of the leading voices speaking truth to power.
While many fans assume that Falz’s fearless activism means he’s planning a political future, the rapper insists his vocal stance comes purely from a place of genuine conviction.
He explained:
“I just care. I cannot afford to witness everything I see happening and keep quiet or do nothing about it. That’s just how I’m built. Nobody is forcing me—I do it because I want to, not because I’m planning anything.”
Falz’s statement comes amid ongoing national frustration about issues like unreliable electricity, which he referenced with his pointed remark:
“We’re still dealing with Up-Nepa in 2025.”
