Nollywood actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli has shared the key to her lasting marriage to Nnamdi Oboli, as the couple celebrates 24 years together.

In a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Omoni revealed that she and her husband made a firm decision even before saying “I do” back in 2000 — that divorce would never be an option for them.

“Staying married for over two decades… first things first, you have to decide. It’s a decision. From day one, we decided that divorce was not an option even before we got married,” she said.

The actress highlighted that forgiveness plays a huge role in any marriage that stands the test of time. According to her, most conflicts can be resolved if both partners are willing to let go and move forward.

“There’s almost nothing someone can do that you can’t forgive, if you want to forgive. We all have to realise that we’re all sinners,” she added.

Looking back, Omoni admitted their early days as a married couple were far from easy. She confessed that she and Nnamdi barely knew each other when they decided to spend the rest of their lives together — Nnamdi had proposed just two weeks after they met, and they tied the knot four months later.

“I was young. Till today, I don’t know how I agreed to marry him so quickly. But I know I fell in love with the way my husband loved me,” she shared.
