Nigerian rapper Dandizzy has sparked conversation online after expressing deep worry over the worsening economic hardship in the country, saying begging has now become alarmingly widespread — even among the employed.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the rapper lamented that Nigerians with regular jobs, including receptionists, security guards, waiters, and even their supervisors, are now forced to beg to survive.
In his words:
“We’ve never had begging this bad in Nigeria. They’re literally begging you on every corner — and I mean people with jobs. People are poor and their salaries are not enough. God abeg!!”
Dandizzy’s statement highlights the growing frustration many Nigerians feel about rising living costs and stagnant wages, which have left even salaried workers unable to meet their basic needs.
His post has since resonated widely, with many online users sharing similar stories of everyday struggles and calling for urgent solutions to Nigeria’s worsening poverty crisis.
