Benue Tragedy: Deeone Slams Kiddwaya Over ₦500 Donation Request for NGO

Former BBNaija housemate and comedian Aderombi Adedayo Martin, popularly known as Deeone, has publicly criticized reality star Kiddwaya for soliciting donations in the wake of the tragic killings in Benue State.

Kiddwaya, whose full name is Terseer Kidd Waya, recently appealed to Nigerians via social media to support his NGO, encouraging contributions as low as ₦500 to help victims displaced by the violence. He emphasized that every amount, no matter how small, counts.

However, his call for donations was met with backlash, with many questioning the sincerity of the appeal—given Kiddwaya’s well-known flamboyant lifestyle.

In a strongly worded video shared on Instagram, Deeone accused Kiddwaya of faking philanthropy. He referenced past incidents, such as Kidd allegedly paying $30,000 for a plate of jollof rice from fellow ex-housemate Whitemoney, and claiming to have lost €70,000 while on vacation in Ibiza—both without showing any concern over the financial loss. Now, Deeone argued, Kiddwaya is asking struggling Nigerians to donate to his foundation.

“Kiddwaya, when are you going to confess to Nigerians that you’re broke?” Deeone said.
“You saw VDM (VeryDarkMan) make money from his NGO, and now you want to copy him. You’re begging for ₦500 from the same people you flaunt your wealth in front of? It’s bad. If you want to run an NGO scam, go and ask VDM how to do it properly.”

Deeone didn’t stop there. He accused Kiddwaya of living a “fake life” and warned that such a lifestyle would eventually backfire.

Social Media Reactions

The post stirred heated debate online, with mixed reactions in the comments:

  • @ctivemouth__: “😂😂 D1 always thinks from the other side. My people, everywhere good! It’s D1 here, shalom 👏.”
  • @Unusesteven_123: “You dey talk VDM name without saying it… Just to get views? Go find your real father first before you blame others for your suffering 😂.”
  • @Cha_yomah: “But he’s right. Kidd and his dad are Benue natives. They should be the ones helping their people.”
  • @_burdizzo: “I don’t like Deeone, but this take is valid. Kiddwaya should be asking for corporate sponsorships, not ₦500 from broke Nigerians.”
  • @Redpill.agent: “NGOs are tax havens for the rich. At least VDM is transparent. Deeone just jealous.”
  • @Realcharityasuquo: “Begging for ₦500 while flying private jets? Omo, this guy dey speak facts.”

This drama adds yet another chapter to the increasingly public clash between celebrity activism, perceived authenticity, and public accountability.
